How does ordering (a french horn) work?

We are often asked how an instrument order works. Therfore, we have summarized all the information for you below:

If you do not yet know which model you would like to order, we offer the possibility of an orientation appointment in our Mainz showroom or at one of our Gebr. Alexander premium dealer in your country of origin. There you will have the chance to test different models. We or our premium dealer will be happy to advise you.

If you have already decided on an instrument and would like to order it directly from us, you have the possibility of sending us an order request. To do so, select your desired instrument in the category instruments, configure it accordingly and send it to us.

If your instrument is to be delivered via our local Gebr. Alexander premium dealer, please contact them directly and discuss the desired configuration with them. In this case, your contact person for the entire ordering process is your premium dealer.

If you have sent us an order request, we will contact you within a few days after submitting your order request, discuss all the details and provide you with a written offer. Based on this offer, you can then place your binding order with us. The further process is as follows:

After you have placed the order, your desired model will be planned in our production and manufactured according to your wishes. In about six to seven months we will arrange a selection appointment. For this appointment we will prepare a selection of several instruments of your desired model from which you can choose YOUR instrument.

The selection instruments are still in their raw state, that is not yet finely polished or lacquered. The finish will be done according to your wishes once you have decided on an instrument. As soon as your instrument has successfully passed our final inspection, we will contact you and you may pick up your instrument at our workshop in Mainz. Naturally, we can also send your instrument to you when it is ready.
